(Detroit, MI)  –  Despite rumors all over the Internet, Aretha Franklin is not dead.  The “Detroit Free Press” cites a source close to the singer in reporting Franklin is alive and being treated for pancreatic cancer.  Twitter fed the rumor frenzy on Monday, with some speculation people read about the death of Teena Marie and thought it was Franklin.  Teena Marie was known as the “Ivory Queen of Soul,” while Aretha is simply called the Queen of Soul.  In the past, actors like Morgan Freeman, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Cosby had their deaths erroneously spread all over the Internet.
