The driver was Roger Rodas, the CEO of Always Evolving, Walker’s high-performance motorworks company and racing team. Rodas and Walker founded Reach Out Worldwide, a foundation created to aid countries suffering from major disasters.

They were leaving a fundraiser event when the car lost control, hit a light post and burst into flames.

Singer/Actor Tyrese had an emotional reaction to the news.

He posted this on Saturday:
“My heart is hurting so bad no one can make me believe this is real,” he wrote. “Father God I pray that you send clarity over this cause I just don’t understand. My heart hurts. It’s broken, no one can convince me that this is real…. Prayer warriors please pray real hard for his only child, his daughter and family.”

Paul Walker just celebrated his 40th birthday and was in the middle of filming Fast & Furious 7.

The movie had recently begun filming in Atlanta and was set to move to Abu Dhabi in January but was on a break from shooting for the Thanksgiving holiday. The seventh film in the blockbuster action franchise has been slotted to hit theaters July 11. No word yet, how the film makers will proceed.

His fans will surely support his other two movies “Brick Mansions”, now in postproduction and his Hurricane Katrina drama “Hours” due out in theaters Dec. 13.
