The former queen of daytime television, Oprah Winfrey is taking measures to inject new life into her struggling 24-hour cable network, the Oprah Winfrey Network or  OWN.  She has named herself boss and chief creative officer.

According to latimes.com, the move comes  after the recent management shakeup that forced out Christina Norman as CEO of the Oprah Winfrey Network.  Oprah wasn’t too thrilled with the low ratings.

 Winfrey becomes the fourth chief executive officer of the OWN cable network,  a partnership with Discovery Communications, which has spent $215 million to fund the venture.

Other appointments include Erik Logan and Sheri Salata, presidents of Winfrey-owned Harpo Studios. They were appointed presidents of OWN.

The network started in January and dismissed former CEO Christina Norman in May
