Congrats to rapper- actor Snoop Dogg.  There’s word that NBC picked up his family sitcom where he will play the father.  Veteran comedy writer Don Reo is also involved in the project, which was meant for Warner Bros TV but ended up with NBC with a script commitment.

According to Deadline, Snoop will produce along with Ted Chung and Reo will executive produce. The rapper has worked with Reo before on Fox’s Bones where he created a spot for Snoop.

Just last month, it was announced that Snoop Dogg was heading for the big screen, playing blues great Fillmore Slim. Pre-production of “The Legend of Fillmore Slim” gets underway in December with filming scheduled to begin next March.
