Despite all of the ongoing controversy, ‘Django Unchained’ and its ‘Golden Globe’-winning director Quentin Tarantino have a fan in Nas, who supports Tarantino’s overt usage of the n-word in the movie.

“I didn’t see what the big fuss was about,” Nas said to MTV News recently. The rapper, who was going to title his 2007 album ‘N—er,’ felt that the controversial term worked in the context of the film ‘Django Unchained,’ especially given its director’s cinematic reputation for his “language” and “goriness.” “It’s a movie, movies by [Tarantino], why should we be surprised if the movie is raw?” Nas said.

“He’s one of the greatest filmmakers of our generation, and we don’t go there to see anything less than rawness,” the ‘Life Is Good’ creator continued. “He’s an artist, and artists have to express themselves.”
