A mysterious disease, Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM), has been reported across the U.S. and doctors can't figure out why.

A three year-old named Kameron is thought to have AFM after a bout with a common cold.  Kameron's symptoms progressed to the extent that he could not stand or walk, losing all use of his legs.  Kameron is now being treated at Oishei Children's Hospital.

This is what his mother, Krystal Toporcyzk, told WGRZ News:

"I heard a thump, so I ran back into the bedroom and I'm like buddy are you okay? Did you fall? The thing that's wrong with him is that he can't walk or stand on his own and he has no reflex in his left knee and his left knee is very weak ," said Toporcyzk."He was playing and running around and then the next morning it completely changed our whole life around. It's hard, really hard."
