Sunday afternoon, street thugs of New Orleans opened fire into a crowd of women and children celebrating Mother's Day! Now police have identified one of the gunmen who injured 19 people.

The violent people on this planet are really pushing this fear agenda hard in 2013. Mass shootings at schools, marathons and now at the Mother's Day parade in New Orleans have people wondering "is there such thing as a safe place anymore?"

More than 400 people were gathered in New Orleans' 7th Ward for a celebration of mothers when all of a sudden...

Ten men, seven women and two children were hit by randomly flying bullets.

"All innocent bystanders got hit," according to Shannon Roberts, who said her nephew, niece and cousin were each shot.

"The city needs to stop the violence. It's hurting our families."

New Orleans Police and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to "the arrest and indictment of the person(s) responsible for this crime."

And thankfully, the community has decided to identify the shooter in the surveillance footage as 19-year-old Akein Scott, a known criminal who has been charged possessing narcotics and a firearm and resisting arrest. Police have checked out all his addresses but he seems to have skipped town.

Where is the LOVE??

The Streets of New Orleans are no stranger to gun violence. And unfortunately public gatherings are becoming a popular target.

It's the third holiday this year when guns have been fired into crowds, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said. A January 21 shooting near a Martin Luther King Day parade left five wounded, and four people were hurt in a February Mardi Gras attack.
