Apparently Brooklyn was not in the house, and it's not looking good for hip-hop as a culture. Today's new generation of hip-hoppers seem to have lost the appreciation for anything that was made before 2010. Here is a video of legendary hip-hop producer/DJ Clark Kent warming up for a Wale show in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn's the home of hip-hop greats Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z. Clark Kent went a different route than most of the warm-up DJs and tried to educate the crowd on the history of some of the beats their favorite MCs rhyme over. His attempt was met with crickets from most of the crowd, who seemed like they had never heard any of this music.

Sad day for hip-hop when no one in the room remembers the greats. What do you think?
