A rally was held last week lead by District Parent Coordinating Council President Brother Sam Radford about the continuing need for change in Buffalo Public Schools. The men are showing support for those children who attend these “persistently low achieving” schools; the schools that President Obama calls “drop-out factories”.

The Teachers Union has blocked millions of dollars from these schools and placing that money in schools with more successful achievement and the men that attended the rally are saying enough is enough.

I am proud to see that the men of our community are standing up and voicing the need for change. It is long overdue and maybe just maybe if we can get enough men in our community to stand up and be vocal about these needed changes, maybe just maybe the young men will see the examples of positive male leadership and begin to initiate change in them.
