Memorial Day — Another First For Blacks

There is so much history that has been lost or covered up, depending on who controls the writing of the history books, articles and newspapers.Now we have a Yale University history professor David Blight, according to Blackamericaweb.com, who, after doing some research some 15 years ago, discovered documents that shows how blacks in South Carolina in 1865 launched the first Decoration Day in honor of the Union’s war dead on May 1.
