McDonald’s Happy Meal To Get Healthier
There’s word that McDonald’s Happy Meal is looking to get healthier. They have announced plans to add fruit or vegetables to all Happy Meals and reduce the portion of French fries rather than remove them from the meals.
The current Happy Meal contains 2.3 ounces of fries, which will be reduced to 1.1. Apples slices are now a side dish in place of fries. They are served in a container with caramel dipping sauce. The sauce will no longer be offered in the new Happy Meal.
According to latimes.com, the Happy Meal changes go in affect this September in some markets. By next April all McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S. will incorporate the new changes to the Happy Meal.
McDonald’s is also working to reduce sodium, sugars and saturated fats in their food by 2020.
