This has been covered by WGRZ News somewhat extensively, however it seems the problem still exists and is somewhat hush hush.  This past Monday WGRZ aired a News Story reporting that:

Testing confirmed traces of Legionella bacteria in the water at ECMC last October, and the hospital is still recommending people don't drink the tap water.

Beyond airing the story on Monday, and after WGRZ was reportedly told by an ECMC Spokesperson, according to the WGRZ News Story, that patient care had not been affected, WGRZ reportedly began getting calls from persons who have  witnessed, first hand, what is going on at ECMC.

"Well, I find it a little hard to believe when you can't wash your hands in your own room. (according to the sister of a woman who had transplant surgery at ECMC this spring.) "She was brushing her teeth with bottled water. She was also told to shower at her own risk because of bacteria that could have been in the water in the steam," according to the woman.
