A ‘90s rapper is trying to make a comeback in a very unusual way. Klever, a member of Chicano rap group Brownside, was arrested in Los Angeles for brandishing a gun at police in a LAPD patrol car. The 35-year-old rhymer turned himself in to police on Wednesday (Oct. 7).

According to NBC 4 Los Angeles, Klever, whose real name is Alex Izquierdo, posted $200,000 bail and was released early Thursday morning (Oct. 8). Police are describing the video as a threat -- despite no vocalized threat directed at cops. The LAPD concludes that the video was a promotional clip for the comeback of "an early 90s rap group no longer in fashion."

Nevertheless, Klever has a prior firearm conviction and investigators are charging him with a felony of carrying a firearm in a vehicle with a prior.

CBS 2 Los Angeles is also reporting that a second man was arrested for producing the video, which allegedly shows Klever holding a presumed loaded revolver while sitting in a parked car behind an LAPD patrol vehicle. The second man in custody has not been identified.

However, Klever's brother, who goes by the rap name Toker, denies his brother was making a threat to police and said the gun in the video was a prop.

In the end, this appears to be bad judgment on Klever's part and anyone associated with the comeback of Brownside. Interestingly enough, they were once signed to Eazy-E's label Ruthless Records back in 1994.
