Kanye West Performs At Memorial Service For ‘Godfather of Rap’ Gil Scott-Heron [VIDEO]

 Famed rapper Kayne West performed at Thursday’s memorial service of Gil Scott-Heron, known as the “Godfather of Rap.”

According to the  NYDN, West lead mourners and closed out the Riverside Church service by performing his song “Lost in the World,” which featured a sample of “Who Will Survive in America?”

 Scott-Heron died last Friday.  He leaves behind a  music legacy that inspired a generation of hip hop artists and others.  He was 62.
