Kanye West just randomly dropped a spiritual hymn on his Soundcloud. It's called "Ultralight Prayer" and it's essentially an extended, alternate version of Kirk Franklin and the choir's parts from "Ultralight Beam." It's a stirring little two-minute joint that you can hear above.

Kanye has been in his spiritual bag ever since his debut album when "Jesus Walks" became a breakout song for him. Throughout his career he's constantly sung about God and religion, and in the lead-up to Yeezus his attachment to spirituality became more obvious than ever.

Multiple interviews around that album found Kanye spouting about his love for God. On the Yeezus tour he even brought out a fake Jesus at one point in the show. Now he's been incorporating more aspects of gospel into his music, going so far as to call The Life of Pablo a gospel album. Then again, he did have the Harlem Boys Choir on "Two Words."

It seems like many artists often get more attached to religion the older they get. The passing of Kanye's mother certainly might have spurned him on to get closer with God - during his MSG Yeezy Season 3 event Kanye premiered a video game about his mom traveling through the gates of heaven.

Nonetheless, "Ultralight Prayer" is a beautiful addition to The Life of Pablo (some have already begun adding it to "Ultralight Beam") that highlights Kirk Franklin's powerful oration and brings the choir to center stage. Considering the original is one of the most powerful songs Kanye's made in awhile, everyone should be pretty satisfied.

But with The Life of Pablo in the rearview mirror, all eyes are now set on Turbo Grafx 16, Kanye's next musical foray. He's already been caught in the studio with Kid Cudi, Mike Dean and Plain Pat, the three of which just dropped a crazy new song yesterday called "The Frequency." Let's hope they keep it going on Yeezy's next musical foray.
