“Enough is Enough” Celebrates 1 yr of Prayer 50 % decrease in homicides

October 2010 marked the year when local pastors, anti-violence groups, elected officials and victimized families joined together for community prayer, information and transformation in a response to the rash of homicides occurring in the city.

“Enough is Enough” I’m a peacemaker campaign was born and over the past year it has continued to bring a change across this city.  On Monday, October 17- Friday, October 21 at True Bethel Baptist Church 907 East Ferry Street join the community for the 1 year celebration of prayer for peace in our city.

The week will be highlighted with a concert on Wednesday, October 19th at 7 pm immediately following prayer, featuring gospel recording artist Pastor John P. Kee & The New Life Community Choir, Charlotte NC, along with special guest Zacardi and LeJune Thompson.  Pastor Kee is known for his untraditional ministry in Charlotte, NC where he works daily to keep young people off the streets and away from violent and criminal activity.

“It is because people came together regardless of race or denomination to pray for our city, that these efforts are still continuing a year later,” says Darius G. Pridgen, originator of the Enough is Enough campaign.

1 hour beginning October 17- October 21 (Monday- Friday) from 6-7 pm services held at True Bethel Baptist Church, 907 East Ferry St. to celebrate 1 year of prayer in our city.
