Author and educator Michael Eric Dyson is decoding the rhymes of rapper Jay-Z to teach students at Georgetown University about race, gender and poverty. But critics argue lyrics about swag and hustle have no place in higher education.

Jay-Z is the perfect story of from rags to riches, and he motivates the students much more than most other people. He is not just a rapper, he is the biggest entrepreneur amongst rappers. That's why he is the one who the teacher chose. I say, as long as they teach you the basic things which you need, there is nothing wrong with a plus class like this. Also Jay-Z is one of the richest rappers ever and a philanthropist Hip Hop is one of the biggest movements in the past 50 years so why is it a big problem to have a class on it.

What do you think is Jay-Z worth a study in higher education ?
