Despite being lambasted by sports pundits, media personalities, and fans, Colin Kaepernick's stance on kneeling during the National Anthem hasn't wavered one bit. Because of his willingness to fight against oppression for black people and people of color, he has earned support from many marquee names.

Over the weekend, J.Cole and Trey Songz showed signs of support for Kaepernick by sporting his jersey during their respective performances. Sales for his number 7 jersey has skyrocketed over the past couple of weeks. Because of his activism and recent protest, he now holds the number one NFL jersey in America. Kap even earned himself support from President Obama for "exercising his constitutional right." During a press conference in China this past Monday (Sept. 5), Obama spoke on one of the most talked about topics in recent weeks.

"There are a lot of ways you can do it," Obama said of Kaepernick of speaking out. "As a general matter, when it comes to the flag and the national anthem and the meaning that that holds for our men and women in uniform and those who fought for us -- that is a tough thing for them to get past to then hear what his deeper concerns are."

Last week, Kaepernick kneeled during the San Francisco 49ers preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. During previous preseason games, he sat down during the national anthem.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick said. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
