Is This a Swastika Tiled into a Downtown Buffalo Building? [Photo]
I was in a building, a prominent one at that, when I noticed this symbol tiled into the floor. I might be ignorant, there might be some other meaning, but my mind immediately went to Hitler and Nazi Germany upon seeing it! Take a look and let me know your thoughts!
I was inside the Ellicott Square building paying my rent and while walking out, I noticed this symbol tiled into the floor. I know it's an old building, but I don't want to jump to conclusions that it actually is a Swastika, but it very well could be!!
According to Wikipedia, "The Ellicott Square Building was designed by Charles Atwood of D. H. Burnham & Company, and completed in May, 1896. At the time of its completion, it was the largest office building in the world."
The architect, Charles B., was born in Charlestown, Massachusetts, in 1849, according to Wikipedia.
I don't see any ties to Hitler or his movement, but with me being relatively new to Buffalo, I have a limited knowledge of the architecture. Vote below and leave comments on Facebook!
