There are several West Side homes on Busti Avenue that were scheduled for demolition to make way for the expansion of the Peace Bridge inspection plaza, but Mayor Brown jumped in and demanded a halt to that idea, opposing Rep. Brian Higgins and Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who support the plan to demolish the homes.

The politics in government, no matter what level, is always a bit muddy and sometimes downright nasty; from what I understand there, is an ongoing feud between Brown and Higgins. In the words of the late Rodney King, “Can't we all just get along?”

Politicians are always fighting for their constituents -- or at least that is what they would like for most of us to believe -- and if that is the case, why has our city declined so much with no end in sight? When are politicians going to do what’s really right for those that voted for them and put their trust in what these politicians have promised and sold to the voters?
