The new Tyler Perry movie “For Colored Girls” that is now playing in theatres sheds light on how dysfunctional relationships can lead to mental depression and mental frustration. We have always heard from family and friends words like: just cheer up; you’re just having a bad day and so on. The problem is that we do not think of our mental health the same way as we do our physical health. We can identify when we have a headache, a muscle strain, a broken limb. But we do not identify our mental circumstances or condition the same way. If we are constantly faced with the same feelings of anxiety, depression, and other mental stimuli time after time; then maybe it is time to seek medical attention.
