On Saturday, May 20th the Lupus Alliance of Upstate New York is hosting Illumination, an event designed to educate and increase awareness of lupus, sponsored by APIC (Access to Psychiatry for Intermediate Care). Illumination will be a celebration of recent developments with an eye on the future. Yasmin Young from the 2 to 6 Takeover will be your co-host for the evening!

According to the Lupus Alliance of Upstate New York,

"Lupus affects more people than multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy, sickle cell anemia and AIDS combined, it remains the least known major disease of our day. Often called the “great imitator”, because it mirrors other diseases, lupus takes an average of five years to be diagnosed. For some patients that diagnosis takes decades."

All are welcome on May 20th, at Lakeward Spirits - The Barrel Factory, 65 Vandalia Street in Buffalo’s old first ward. Enjoy the celebration while raising awareness and funds to support those affected by lupus and related autoimmune diseases. Business attire is expected.
