Today’s news reveals that #IHOP was basically playing us when they temporarily switched their name to “IHOB”.

The restaurant chain apparently made this temporary change as a marketing strategy to promote their new burger line-up.
IHOP’s executive director of communications Stephanie Peterson said:

“We knew we had a very tough job to do to convince people that we take our burgers as seriously as we take our pancakes,” “So, we went bold with the campaign.”

Welp, the name change definitely got people talking, but it didn’t increase the likelihood of customers eating there. According to YouGov, they found out that IHOP's purchase consideration score has remained consistent throughout the first half of 2018, and The number of people who talked about the restaurant with friends and family rose 11%, from 19% to 30%

Did you like to the name change or are you glad its back?
