Happy Birthday USMC

There’s word that the United States Marine Corps (USMC) is celebrating its 236^th birthday. I know there are a lot of past and present Marines who are and remain proud on this special day.  The country owes a debt of gratitude to the men and women who made the commitment to keep our country safe.

The Marine Corps was formed on November 10, 1775. It includes 203,000 active duty Marines and just under 40,000 reserves Marines.  It is the smallest of the United States armed forces.

If you’re like me, you know someone who has been a member the Corps.  Our very own Kole Porter is a past Marine along with the father and the husband of our receptionist, Sharon.  Thanks for serving our country.  Don’t feel left out if you served in another branch of service.  Veterans Day 11-11-11 is tomorrow.
