Gunman In Custody After Planned Parenthood Shooting

A gunman was captured yesterday after a long standoff with police at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs. The man has been identified as 57 year old Robert Lewis Dear of North Carolina.

By the time Dear was taken into custody, 9 people were injured and 3 people including a police offer were dead. At this time authorities are unaware if the shooter had any affiliation with the clinic. The motive behind this horrible incident is unknown and all staff have been reported to be safe.

According to WIVB: With Lewis in custody, officers searched the building and turned their attention to inspecting unspecified items the gunman left outside the building and carried inside in bags. They were concerned that he had planted improvised explosive devices meant to cause even more destruction. As of late Friday, police did not say what was found.
