Considering that OJ is serving 9 to 33 years in jail for Armed Robbery & Kidnapping; I’m sure he has bigger problems to worry about, but it appears his 4200 square foot home near downtown Miami is in foreclosure.

According to documents filed with the Miami-Dade County Clerk, JP Morgan Chase Bank filed the required documents to begin foreclosure in September last year. Simpson’s attorney has filed a motion to dismiss the suit, that is currently pending.

OJ financed the house with a $592k loan from Washington Mutual bank; that loan was later transferred to Chase. It’s noted in court documents that OJ owes more than $700k once you add up all the fee’s and penalties. According to the Miami-Dade County Assessors office, the house is currently valued at about $478k.

Florida, just like New York, has a mandatory mediation program that people can go thru to try and work out a repayment plan or modification. I’m going to guess that OJ has been a bit too pre-occupied to make it to that mediation. I wonder if anyone here in Buffalo would offer him a place to stay when he gets out?
