Last month, Rhonda Lee, meteorologist at KTBS-TV in Shreveport, La., was fired from the ABC affiliate because she responded (very graciously, in fact!) to a Facebook comment about her natural hairstyle:

...I don’t find it necessary (to relax my hair). I’m very proud of who I am and the standard of beauty I display. Women come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities, and levels of beauty. Showing little girls that being comfortable in the skin and HAIR God gave me is my contribution to society....

The station claims Lee broke an unwritten social media policy, but their Facebook page has been bombarded with negative comments about their decision to let Lee go. Petitions have started circulating online as well.

So, in a show of support for Lee, The People's Station 93.7 WBLK is declaring this Friday (December 15) "Black Fro-Day"! We want you to "fro" your Facebook profile picture and your Twitter avatar (like we did with our DJ pictures!).

And if you always go natural, we want to see it! Send us a photo of your au natural 'fro using the form below, and you could win tickets to see Rihanna on March 1 at First Niagara Center!

WBLK, the station that never relaxes, wants you to pin it! Curl it! But just don't straighten it!
