Its been some many social media posts and meme's about how people will no longer get they food stamps which could create a huge problem. I was worried about all these people on assistance and its over 200k in WNY.

According to Spectrum news,  The federal government shutdown is not affecting the ability for people to get their food stamps and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) through February.Yeah but what happens after that, hopefully they government will be back up and rolling but is unclear on what will happen.

"Id have to take money from somewhere else to pay for it. That's why these programs that are currently affected by the shutdown are on hold,"Mark Poloncarz, Erie County Executive Poloncarz said.

Erie County would have to re-allocate $18 million dollars to fund SNAP for just one month. WOW. Thats a lot of money.
