Five Places Buffalo Should Have

Last week, on the air, in order to create the “Buffalo Wish List”, I asked my audience to “Name A Restaurant, That you’ve Been To Out Of Town, That Should Be In Buffalo. In addition to retrieving the audio, I was also able to compile the top 5 restaurants that we should have here in Buffalo. Here are the results:

Located all over the country, except the northeastern states. Church’s chicken is a highly recognized brand name in the quick service restaurant sector and is one of the largest quick-service chicken concepts in the world. Church’s chicken serves freshly prepared, high quality, flavorful chicken both original and spicier spicy and tenders with classic sides and hand-made from scratch biscuits. The menu includes fried chicken with classic sides like fried okra, french fries, mashed potatoes/gravy, corn on the cob, and cole slaw. Two people can eat well for about $11, perfect for a late night, after the club meal.

Scattered across the U.S., with one location locally at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport). Checkers is inaccessible to the general public due to the location here in buffalo. Specializing in burgers, fries and colas,  their menu also includes a variety chicken sandwiches, wings, fish sandwiches, one dollar items, 2 for 1 specials geared towards family dining and kids specials. $25 could feed a family of four easy.

Based in Louisiana, Popeye’s has locations scatted throughout the United States. Their specialties are:

Louisiana style fried chicken, fish, shrimp, signature sides like red beans & rice, cajun battered fries, cujun rice, mashed potatoes with cajun gravy, cole slaw, and biscuits, and $3.99 could buy you a fried shrimp and fries basket.

Mostly located in the southeast region of the, this is a family, dine in, homestyle buffet restaurant. The menu is off the hook with everything from grilled to order sirloin steaks, meatloaf, fried chicken, and mac n cheese, to an excellent variety of sides and deserts, all you can eat for about $10.

Sonic has almost 4000 locations across the U.S. and has a “Happy Days”/“Laverne & Shirley” type theme going on. Known as America’s Drive In, the waitresses roll to your vehicle to give you carside service with a menu that includes basic Drive-In movie food like hamburgers, hot dogs, and the basic sides, kid’s meals and deserts. The nearest location to us is in PA and Ohio.
