According to the Buffalo News, a recent survey of students in the Buffalo School District revealed that 6, 180 students say they are sexually active, with 1,236 of those students being Middle School students.  This statistic makes the sexual intercourse rate among Buffalo School District students is 20% higher than  the entire state's average.

Furthermore, according to the Buffalo News report, the survey shows that 21.6% of Middle School students and 30.8% of High School students acknowledge they DO NOT USE PROTECTION!!!

The Buffalo News reports that Community Forums have been arranged for parents and the community to gather to come up with solutions.  One Forum has already taken place at South Park High School with the remainder of Forums scheduled as follows:

• Thursday, September 27, 6:30PM @ East High School, 820 Northampton Street
• Thursday, October 4, 6:30PM @ Lafayette High School, 370 Lafayette Avenue
• Thursday, October 11, 6:30PM @ Bennett High School, 2884 Main Street
