Sponsored by the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens and national nonprofit Get Schooled, the competition included more than 1,000 high schools across the country in a bid to improve high school graduation rates and college and career readiness skills.

Shout out to Shaniya for the heads up on this amazing event! She called into my show to share the good news. Listen here:

Nine of the top schools in the "Graduate For Mas Challenge" were from Buffalo!!! The freshmen and junior classes at Hutch Tech posted the highest attendance rates of any 9-12 grade high schools in Buffalo Public Schools.

On Monday, Principal for the day, Fabolous, announced his presence over the loudspeaker, and Tech Nation went crazy! Via GetSchooled:

After classroom visits and VIP time with Hutch Tech’s most active students, Principal Fabolous was ready to rally 1000 students for the all school celebration in the auditorium. The school spirit was at an all-time high as you could hear chants of “Fabolous” and “Hutch Tech” right before the celebrity principal took stage.
