Experiencing The Plight Of My Community First Hand
Every other Thursday I go to the barber to get a haircut and this Thursday was no different from any other Thursday except, I witnessed something that shook me so much that I was forced to write about it on the website.
When I arrived at the barber shop I was approached to purchase something from a nice lady in the community that sales baked items. I told her that I need to go back outside to my truck to get a couple of dollars that I keep in the sun visor and would be right back. As I opened the door of my vehicle I hear pop, pop, pop, pop, pop and see a young man standing at the corner about two blocks away shooting a gun. He then takes off running across the street while immediately being chased by the police who roll up on him almost as soon as he finishes shooting the gun. I stood there for a few minutes just to see what was going on as police flooded the area…now remember this is about 2:30 in the afternoon, broad daylight and about 90 degree weather.
When I finished getting my hair cut, I noticed that there were more police that had converged at the corner where the incident happened and they had the crime scene tape around the entrance to the store there as well. I guess whoever it was that got shot ran around the corner and collapsed inside of the store!
When is our community going to hold the politicians and those individuals accountable for the state of our community? When is the community going to come together as a community and put an end to this savage behavior? When? Enough is enough! Right Knowledge, Corrects Wrong Behavior! Know Thyself! All of the local news media was there within 10-15 minutes so the story will be on the news this evening I’m sure.
