When it’s time for the next Marco Minnemann or Mario Duplantier to emerge, Momo DeMonster may be the young man to take that throne. The eight-year-old drumming prodigy just released a mind-bending video performing one of the most difficult drum tracks in metal history — Meshuggah’s “Bleed.”

According to Tomas Haake himself, it took as long to learn “Bleed” as the remaining eight obZen songs combined. The polyrhythmic piece is difficult enough, utilizing 4/4 timing up top and 3/4 on the feet, but its seven-minute runtime and experimental shifts make it a true expert work. Adult drummers regularly struggle to grasp the complexity of “Bleed,” but Momo DeMonster has the full song mapped out.

The youngster’s feet barely reach his double kick pedals and his arms can barely lift high enough to smash his cymbals, but that doesn’t stop the wunderkind from crushing “Bleed.” Momo has also released play-through clips of Slayer’s “Angel of Death,” Pantera’s “Becoming” and a myriad of songs from Cannibal Corpse, Slipknot, Lamb of God and many other bands with masterful drummers.

We don’t know much else about Momo DeMonster other than his love of Minecraft, but his work behind the kit is absolutely devastating, so watch his performance of “Bleed” in the clip above.
