Eric Wright Jr. told TMZ there is a "high probability" he'll land the role of his father in an upcoming movie about the famous rap group N.W.A.

The group consisting of Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Eazy-E, MC Ren, DJ Yella and Arabian Prince marked the start of the controversial gangsta rap movement. Their music was eventually banned from mainstream radio and they were not allowed to tour.

Business turmoil caused Ice Cube and eventually Dr. Dre to leave the group. Diss records and videos were exchanged between the members for years up until Eazy-E passed away of Aids related complications in 1995. The members of the former legendary group never formally settled there differences.

The movie will be co-produced by former N.W.A member Ice Cube and "may" be directed by Boyz N The Hood director John Singleton.

I can't talk too prematurely about the stuff I'm doing because nothing's come to fruition yet, but Ice Cube and I are talking about doing the N.W.A. story. The script is really, really good, and so we're just figuring it out. New Line really wants to make it.' Singleton revealed at the Los Angeles press day for his new thriller Abduction.

Eric Jr. says he has been in contact with producers and is eager to play the role of his late father, telling TMZ "I'm the perfect man for the role... I know I'm just like my dad."
