In a meeting that took place at the first of the year, Mitt Romney made some statements that have got his campaign in deep trouble right now after recently being released. In fact, Mitt held a late night press conference on Monday to defend his position and did not apologize for his statements.

What he said that has the country buzzing right now is this: “There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.”

Was his statement a fair one, especially to the 47% that he was referring too? Is it time for Democrats to change the perception of how they are seen in politics and stop looking like the party that always has its hand out looking for assistance?
