Do Our Memories And Emotions Control Our Critical Thinking During The Holidays? KTSCW
KNOW THYSELF COMMUNITY WEDNESDAY
Growing up I remember my parents telling me the story of Santa Claus, the North Pole, Elves and his reindeer and how he made his journey around the world delivering presents to those who have been naughty or nice-I think is how the saying goes. The story was told and reinforced so well on television and everywhere you would go that it truly became a part of your belief and conditioning (the key word here is conditioning). Of course, as I got older I realized that there was no such thing as Santa Claus and it all was a made up story.
But what is truly amazing is when you become a critical thinker of things and ask questions of the origins of things instead of just following something because everyone else does and you are too lazy to use your brain and think for yourself.
Do you ever question what is really going on between December 21st and 24th?
Why do we say the light of the world is reborn on December 25th?
What light are we talking about? Well, I can tell you that that it rises in the East and sets in the West and we refer to it as the Sun…
Do you follow doctrines and dogmas that tell you what to think and how to think and you do so because that is what your parents did and that is what their parents did and so on…When will we as a whole become people that think for ourselves, research, question, analyze, I mean truly become critical in our thinking about our everyday lives, traditions, holidays, education; anything that the masses do collectively you should question!!!
