Rapper DMX had a run-in with the law on Friday night (June 26). The rapper was arrested in New York on before he had to perform an old-school rap show.

A spokesman for the New York County Sheriff Office’s told PIX11 News that the 44-year-old rapper was taken into custody for overdue child support payments. According to the Erie County Family Court, the “Party Up” rhymer owes $400,000 worth of back child support.

X was among the headliners for the Masters of Ceremony concert, which took place at Radio Music City Hall. The event featured old-school rap acts like Ma$e and Rakim.

According to reports, a team of sheriffs were already waiting for DMX outside the venue. When they saw the veteran rapper step out of his car service they immediately placed him in handcuffs.

DMX also has an arrest warrant by the city of White Plains, N.Y., for bail jumping. So it looks like Dark Man X will be in police custody for a while.

Reps for DMX had no comment on the matter.
