The last time Justin Combs was in the news it was because his father, rap impresario Sean ‘Diddy” Combs had thrown him a lavish, star-studded birthday party, which included the 16-year old being presented with a $360,000 Maybach as a gift.

A year-and-a-half later, Justin is starting to grab headlines in his own right — for his play on the football field.

The rising senior stars at cornerback for Iona Prep in New York, New York. According to Scout.com, Justin has received scholarships offers from Illinois and Virginia and is being recruited by West Virginia, Iowa and Kansas State.

Of course, he doesn’t really need a scholarship, since his father’s net worth is estimated at close to $500 million.

But the younger Combs sees getting a free ride as a validation of his talent.

“I just want to show my hard work and how it pays off and to show that I deserve that spot and I deserve that scholarship,” he says. “This why I deserve that scholarship — I am going to show you why.”
