On April 14th, 2018 from 9 am to 3 pm Fredonia State's Intercultural Center presents the 2nd Annual Men of Color Summit!   The summit is a unique networking opportunity for participants to learn from each other by participating in workshops, networking with professional men of color, who are leaders in their respective fields. WBLK's Jay Hicks (10 am to 2 pm) will be hosting the Young Professionals panel. The ultimate goal for this summit is to educate, empower and motivate our students to strive for excellence in education and their professional career.

The Men of Color Summit is designed to provide a safe space for male students of color to identify the issues that specifically men of color face; and how those issues intersects with their academic careers and ultimately their professional careers. Participants will address systemic, social structures that inhibit men of color from achieving high success in their educational careers. The Summit will provide students with a greater sense of self and helping them to contextualize their identity socially, academically, historically and politically.

The program is designed for all genders and ethnicities, to engage with the issues that not only men of color face but many individuals as a whole. The guest keynote speaker is Jahmad Canley, CEO of Potential Unleashed Consulting, with appearances from Buffalo Bills, Geico, and many more.
