The 37 Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries and the Library on Wheels bookmobile have lots of Summer Reading activities and events for you to be a part of!

Check out these summer reading programs:

"Passport to Reading - Get started soon on your summer journey! You can travel the highways and byways of Erie County to visit all 37 public libraries and the Library on Wheels bookmobile with the Passport to Reading. No luggage needed, just pick up a special commemorative Passport at any library and have it stamped at all library locations for chances to win great prizes. Click here for details.

Free Programs, Entertainers, Crafts and More - Every Library has a handful of fun programs with entertainers, animals, games, movies and more, geared toward children, teens and families. All are designed to make your summer a blast! Click here for details.

Reading Logs, Reading Competitions and Great Prizes - Kids register and track their reading progress at a local library. Incentives and prizes are provided when predetermined milestones (number of books read) are reached. Ask your library for details!

Read Down Your Fines - Children ages 16 and under can pay down overdue library fines through reading. For every 15 minutes of reading, one Library Buck is earned toward reducing or eliminating overdue fines. Now through September 15. Click here for details.

myON Digital Library - Thousands of children's books can be downloaded this summer as a part of Summer Reading at New York Libraries. The State Education Department and myON are partnering to bring young readers more than 6,000 fiction and nonfiction e-books, covering a broad range of topics and themes. Also available are professionally recorded audio, text highlighting, an embedded dictionary and zoom feature to support independent reading. Now through September 2018. Unlimited 24/7 access, online and offline.

Battle of the Books - All readers are winners in the annual "Battle of the Books" on Saturday, August 4 at Erie Community College - South Campus gym. This popular summertime team trivia competition, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, is for youth entering grades six to nine. Head to your local Library to learn more. Come see the final round at ECC South on Aug. 4 at 11:15 a.m.!
