KeyBank, a Fortune 500 company with regional headquarters in Buffalo, is donating thousands of books to Buffalo’s children at the 2017 Juneteenth Festival on June 17 and 18 at Martin Luther King Jr. Park.

At this weekend’s 42nd annual festival, KeyBank employees will distribute 10,000 free books to attendees. The books were collected as part of Project FLIGHT’s Books for Kids Drive, which is held annually in April.

“KeyBank’s local workforce has a long history of supporting educational efforts here in Buffalo. We are proud to once again partner with Project FLIGHT to make sure these books that were generously donated, make their way into the community,” said Kawanza Humphrey, Vice President and Area Retail Leader with KeyBank in Buffalo.

“The legacy of literacy is democracy and freedom,” said Dr. Geraldine Bard and Dr. Elizabeth Cappella, Co-Directors of Project FLIGHT. “Project FLIGHT has worked with KeyBank on many community projects for more than 20 years.
