A lot can happen in the space of three hours. In the case of the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, held at the Empire Polo Field in the scorching hot desert of Indio, Calif., that’s all the time that was needed for both weekends of the festival to sell out. Coachella, which expanded from one weekend to two this year, is completely and totally sold out.

The organizers revealed the good news via a pair of tweets issued over the official Twitter feed.

The tweet posted on Jan. 13 and read as follows: “#Coachella2012 Weekend 1 sold out, thank you.” The tickets went on sale at 10 AM PT and that post went up at 12:57 PM PT, so do the simple math and realize it’s just three minutes under three hours. Maybe that’s a lucky number for Coachella and 2013 will see the fest expand to three weekends. Just sayin’.

A follow up post also went up, simply stating: “#Coachella2012 sold out, thank you.”

Coachella will take place April 13-15 and April 20-22. If there was any concern over supersizing the festival by adding another weekend of performances, this news certainly squashes it.

Radiohead, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre and David Guetta are among the performers slated to take the stage in April.
