Illinois authorities are trying to charge a man with 5 counts of wiretapping, after he video taped a police incident.
Michael Allison, a 41-year-old mechanic rejected a plea deal that would have required him to serve no jail time at all, stating “If we don’t fight for our freedoms here at home we’re all going to lose them.”

I received a message from a listener yesterday that asked if I noticed how quiet and clean the streets of the inner city was yesterday do to the Islamic holiday of Ramadan and the closing of a number of Arab owned businesses in the community. There were no young men and women hanging out in front of these businesses like they are when these stores and establishments are open. The gentleman continued on to ask have we given up our power in our own community and have now become solely dependent on others to supply us with the necessities for our everyday lives?

Last week on Know Thyself Community Wednesday we searched for the qualities in a woman that would make her a better mother; and your response Buffalo was exceptional. Whether you know it or not, we exist in this reality on one of the most important principles known to man and that is “balance” or what our ancestors referred to as Ma’at in ancient times.

August 11, 2011 Now it looks like we have a young boy who got in to a domestic altercation with his girlfriend and shot her to death last night around 8:30 over on Virginia near Trenton. Another senseless killing in our community and there seems to be no end in sight. But what amazes me the most is that the community is not united in a way to come together and demand an end to the genocide of its own people; which makes me feel that maybe, just maybe, our community is suffering from a psychological condition that is affecting those that live in this awful environment.

We have had many discussions on this radio station, community forums, and conversations at church, in our homes and on the streets about the out of control generation that currently affects all of us in some way or another, our community, and society. This by no means is to say that all of the young men and women in our community and around this country are behaving in ways that would have been unheard of when we were growing up back in the day!

Every other Thursday I go to the barber to get a haircut and this Thursday was no different from any other Thursday except, I witnessed something that shook me so much that I was forced to write about it on the website.
When I arrived at the barber shop I was approached to purchase something from a nice lady in the community that sales baked items. I told her that I need to go back outside to my truck to get a couple of dollars that I keep in the sun visor and would be right back. As I opened the door of my vehicle I hear pop, pop, pop, pop, pop and see a young man standing at the corner about two blocks away shooting a gun. He then takes off running across the street while immediately being chased by the police who roll up on him almost as soon as he finishes shooting the gun. I stood there for a few minutes just to see what was going on as police flooded the area…now remember this is about 2:30 in the afternoon, broad daylight and about 90 degree weather.
