September 22, 2011 This is one publication that I had the pleasure of purchasing and reading about two years ago after a friend mentioned to me this guy by the name of The Black Dot. Once I began to read this book I discovered that it was a very easy read, not complicated and very relatable to today’s young generation. The way that he breaks down the different elements of hip hop, the origins of it and how it has taken on a whole new persona and mission unlike what it was intended for back in the late 70’s. How to get unplugged from The Matrix and much more!
September 16, 2011 This weekend on The People’s Station 93.7 WBLK we are launching our Know Thyself Book Club. This is a project that has been in the works for quite some time and boy do we have a number of books to present to you that will give you a better understanding of our Know Thyself Campaign, the importance of knowledge and education, and how it may relate to you.
As you may or may not know our Know Thyself initiative began almost three years ago now and some of you continue to tell us how much it has made a difference in your life and our community. With the current state of the economy, unemployment, the rise of AIDS, violence, teenage pregnancy and more; I think that it is imperative that everyone should at least try to get a better understanding of what has, and is happening to our community so that each of us can be better equipped to help deal with and solve some of the many issues that we face as a society.

From the moment that most of us come out of the womb we are immediately conditioned by things and circumstances of the external world…If you are a baby girl, you are immediately clothed with the colors that our society has deemed appropriate for you to wear and the same is true if you are a boy. We are trained to recognize the things that we perceive with our 5 senses and sometimes never really taught about the senses from within; our intuition and how to be intuit, which is also as natural as anything else that we poses as human beings.
