An Oakland rapper, Zoe Tha Roasta a.k.a Lorenzo Hall, will be awarded close to $300,000 by The City of Oakland, California after serving 2 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. According to reports, Hall was arrested back in 2006 for a number of weapon related offenses, while he was at a wake for his aunt. Zoe spent four months in jail before posting bail. California prosecutors raised his bail and his case was not dropped until 2008. Zoe had served 18 months in prison by that time. Turns out, Alcantar, an L.A. police officer, is no longer on the force but is accused of planting a gun on the parolee that reportedly belonged to someone else.
