The sun is shining and flowers are blooming in Buffalo! With the temperatures climbing by the minute, it's time to enjoy a picnic with family and friends. Here's a list of some great picnic locations in the area.

Cazenovia Park

25 Cazenovia St., Buffalo
Located in South Buffalo, Cazenovia Park is a favorite spot for walks and picnics in the summer months. Cazenovia features areas for golfing and swimming as well. Many Buffalonians say that "Caz Park" is the best of the city's parks!

Fontana's Grove

77 South Rossler Ave., Buffalo
Looking for a place to host an outdoor family party? Fontana's Grove is equipped with all your party needs: bocce ball, horseshoe pits, basketball courts, and sand volleyball! With a pavilion that can fit 500 people, Fontana's Grove is the perfect place to host this year's family reunion.

Delaware Park

Meadow Drive, Buffalo
Practically in the backyard of the Albright-Knox, Delaware Park is a great place to enjoy some tranquility (and sandwiches!). With the pond in sight and zoo around the corner, this park is right in the heart of some of Buffalo's greatest attractions yet still has a quaint atmosphere. Enjoy time with family and friends or check out some unique summer events like Shakespeare in the Park!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Park

Humboldt Parkway, Buffalo
This historic park is home to the Buffalo Museum of Science. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, located on the east side of Buffalo, has a beautiful gardens as well as a picnic grove! It's a perfectly unique picnic destination.

Front Park

Foot of Connecticut Street, bordered by Busti Avenue and Porter Avenue, Buffalo
Front Park, formerly known as "The Front," overlooks the beautiful Niagara River and Lake Erie. The park includes a playground, tennis courts and picnic shelters.

Ellicott Creek Island

1 Ellicott Creek Dr., Tonawanda
Ellicott Creek's beautiful scenery includes a variety of trees and ferns, wildlife such as opossum, weasels, rabbits, deer, turtles, fish, and more. The park offers areas for canoeing, fishing, tennis, playgrounds, and picnic shelters. Call (716) 858-8355 from 8 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. on weekdays or visit their website to reserve a shelter/building!

Isle View Park

796 Niagara St., Tonawanda
With a magnificent view of the water, Isle View Park is a wonderful picnic spot, with tables scattered around the park. Reserve the gazebo/shelter on the Erie County Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry website!

Chestnut Ridge Park

6121 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Orchard Park
With shelters, tables and family picnic grills, Chestnut Ridge Park is a wonderful place for a picnic with the family. The park has various shelters available from May 1 until October 15.

Clarence Town Park

10405 Main St., Clarence
Of Clarence’s several parks, the Main Street Town Park is arguably the best! With woods to explore, a pond, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, a pool and more, there’s plenty of entertainment available. Riverside Park

Riverside Park is a lively park with amenities such as baseball diamonds, football/soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, swimming pools and playgrounds. Pack a lunch and set up at a picnic table while the kids play -- there’s something for everyone!

2136 West Oakfield Rd., Grand Island
Features picnic areas, as well as swimming, seasonal and transient boat slips, fishing, car-top boat launch, multiple canoe/kayak launches, bike and nature trails, a nature center, playgrounds, athletic fields, horseshoe pits, an 18-hole championship disc golf course and an 18-hole championship golf course.

Niagara Falls State Park

Niagara Falls State Park is the oldest state park in the country! Grab a spot at one of the park’s several picnic tables and enjoy the magnificent view of the Falls. Don’t want to pack your own lunch? Check out the Prospect Point Café, Grill, Ice Cream Shop and the Cave of the Winds Snack Bar!
