Buffalo native serves on a “City at Sea” aboard Navy’s largest warfare ship
I Think its pretty cool how people branch out of buffalo and discover new ventures. and accomplish so much!
A Buffalo, New York, native and 2010 Western New York Maritime Charter School graduate is serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island.
Lt. j.g. Chris Munn is an electrical division officer aboard the amphibious assault ship operating out of San Diego. Asking what an electrical division officer does?
An electrical division officer is responsible for managing all electrical workings of the ship and making sure all lights are working for the crew.
“I wanted to show my brother and sister there is a way to succeed regardless of where you come from,” said Munn. “Being able to show them there is more and make a betteer life for myself is why I joined the Navy.”
Munn credits success in the Navy to many of the lessons learned growing up in Buffalo.
