The Georgetown Hoyas were in China to play the Chinese national team when things took a turn for the worse.  The Hoyas were apparently having their way with the Chinese when several of the Chinese players starting getting a little extra physical with the Hoyas.  The scene quickly escalated and ended up in in all out bench clearing brawl.

The fight went on for several minutes but finally Georgetown coach John Thompson III was able to get his team off the court.  He later asked for a police escort back to the team's hotel but authorities refused.

Washington Post sports reporter Gene Wang who was covering the game is quoted as saying "the officials were just horrid".

Vice President Joe Biden was also in attendance while on a good will trip to China to try and improve relations between the two super power countries.
