Boosie Badazz is giving back to his hometown, Baton Rouge, after its residents suffered from a tragic flood. The flood that killed thirteen people and displaced thousands. Now, Boosie is helping them get back on their feet.

The 33-year-old donated 20,000 care packages that include socks, underwear, bottled water and a hygiene kit.

"Just doing what I can to help my people [affected] by the #brflood2016," read the caption of his Instagram post.

Boosie also signed the boxes so the residents would know that it comes from him. Red Cross has cited the disaster as "the worst to hit the U.S. since Superstorm Sandy."

On top of the natural disaster, Baton Rouge has seen a number of tragedies. Earlier this year, Alton Sterling was shot and killed by the police in the city. Afterwards, three police officers were killed there.

"I was hurt. I cried, bro," said Boosie in an interview with XXL. "I’m a strong person but I was hurt. I was like, ‘damn bro.'”
