BET has picked up four new reality television shows, one of them called 'Hip Hop Sisters.' The docudrama will follow rappers MC Lyte, the Lady of Rage, Yo-Yo, Smooth, Monie Love and Lil Mama as they attempt to relaunch their careers in hip-hop music.

"Their goal is to reclaim their titles as the Queens of Hip Hop — as they manage their drama-filled personal careers and lives and search for the next great female MC," a statement reads.

MC Lyte is the show's executive producer, along with Lemuel Plummer. She is also founder and CEO of Hip Hop Sisters Network, a non-profit foundation that she founded to promote positive images of women of all ethic diversity and to bring empowerment to women worldwide. So we can make a healthy assumption that the show's name is borrowed from the name of her organization.

We wish we could provide you with a date for the series debut, but the show is currently in development.
